Where The Jungle Book meets Scouting
Launched in June 1916, Cubs (originally known as Wolf Cubs) was created due to the demand of younger brothers of the boys already in Scouts wanted to join the fun. Scouting founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell spoke to his good friend, Rudyard Kipling, to ask for permission to use the premise of his famous stories, The Jungle Book. This became a framework for the new younger Scouts.
