What a weekend we had! Ferny Crofts Scout Activity Centre held Fundays for Squirrels on the Saturday and, for the first time ever, for Beavers on the Sunday.
Deborah, Poppy and Brian attended with Bagheera and Hedgehog on the Squirrel day and were incredibly lucky with the weather! There was even the occasional warm sunny spell!
The activities they did included the Fun Zone where there were inflatables, circus games and a craft tent. They also had a go at Go Karts, Tomahawk Throwing and Backwoods Cooking. They even had time for a little bit of exploring of the massive New Forest site, during which time they found a phone box and took a look at the site map, pinpointing their location and looking at the different wildlife on the poster.
While the Squirrels were incredibly lucky with the weather, the Beavers unfortunately weren't, but that didn't dampen the fun they had!
Some of their activities were different to those the Squirrels did, though all had access to the Fun Zone.
Kyron, Annalise, Sam and Poppy had a go in the Cave Bus, and did a bit of Archery, as well as doing the Backwoods Cooking. Kestrel, Mongoose and Otter joined them.
To top it off though, Kyron was invested as a Beaver while there. So not only is Kyron our first member to earn all his badges in a section and one of the first two to achieve their Chief Scout Award for his section, he's also the first of our Young People to be invested outside of our meeting place!
Everyone had an amazing time and we're all looking forward to the next time we can visit the Hampshire HQ!
