May the 4th Be With You

Ok, well May the 1st be with you then because we meet on a Wednesday, not a Saturday!

The Squirrels and Beavers swapped their neckers for lightsabres this week and learned the ways of the Force, becoming Jedi Younglings.

The first lesson at the Jedi Academy was mindfulness which meant trying out a few yoga poses.

After that, we did an activity to focus our senses by using all five to explore a raisin!

Tahlia and Poppy use all their senses to explore how the raisin feels, smells, looks, hears and, finally, tastes

Up next was the most important skill for a young Jedi: lightsabre skills. Using inflatable lightsabres, the Younglings learned about listening to instructions and had loads of fun trying to deflect each other's strikes. Our GSL, Sean, channelled his inner Sith and so naturally our Younglings defended each other well.

After Darth Sean was finally defeated, we all needed to get our strength back and what better way than to have some Pog Soup like the Mandalorian. All the Younglings tried the vegetable soup and some of them even liked it!

Jedi Youngling Poppy displayed true Jedi selflessness when one of our newest recruits, Johnny, asked for a turn to wear the dragon costume. Poppy asked if she could help him put it on.

Finally, to end off such a busy meeting, one of our leaders, Rabbit, made her promise and is now officially a Scout Leader (and a Jedi Knight!)

What an amazing evening! We can't wait for next week!
